Business as usual

On the 4th day of Chinese New Year, many of the eateries have opened for business so we can have our usual noodles for breakfast but now at a higher price. What was priced at MYR5 before Chinese New Year costs MYR5.5 now, an increased of 10% and if this goes on every year at the same rate, in about another 8 years, a bowl of noodles would cost MYR10.

Char Kway Teow - stir fried rice noodles with egg, beansprout, shrimps, cockles and occasionally lard which I do not eat. This particular plate does not have any "wok hei" (taste of food stirfried in very, very, very hot oil) which is also fine with me as I do not really care for "wok hei". MYR5.5

Pan mee - made when ordered noodles, not the thin type and not the very broad type but taste just as nice. MYR5.5
